Help with Engine Codes

Hi Everyone,

Can you please help me with my problem. I don't want to take it to Honda dealer simply because I don't trust them.

I have Honda Accord 2007 2.2 Diesel 105k miles. It's been two weeks I have engine light on my dashboard and while I'm driving sometimes the VSA enables which makes the accelerator non responsive. I have to park my car switch off the engine open fuel cap and close it again and then I start... the VSA goes away and I can drive on for a while - and not long I have to repeat the process again.

After this problem I got my car serviced ( changed filters and oil) but this didn't help. Yesterday I took it to a local garage to pull the codes it showed the following. They reset all the codes but the light came back while I was driving home.

Can you please tell me what could be the problem.


About 8 months ago I was having the same problem with P2138 code, Honda told me to change the Throttle Position sensor. But someone on the forum told me to change the brakes pads and discs which I did and the car was running like a charm.

Problem is your accelerator pedal position sensor.

Petrol and diesel share the same part and both suffer from this problem

Will cleaning the existing sensor improve anything?

Be careful if it's ebay US, the Honda Accord in the US is different from the Honda Accord in the EU, the Acura TSX in the US is closer to the Honda Accord in the EU
