Honda accord
Hi I’m new to this site

Iv got a Honda accord 2004 2.2 diesel it’s got an immobiliser fault where the car will turn over but will not start till the glow plug light comes up on the dash this is an intermittent fault some times u can be lucky and turn the ignition on twice or other times u can have 30 attempts

Please don’t waste my time saying battery ect if people could reply back who have had the same issue it would be much appreciated many thanks in advance

Sounds like it’s not detecting the key. Have you got a spare key? Does it do the same thing with both keys? If so then I’m guessing it has a faulty receiver unit (never changed one myself but normally they’re around the ring of the barrel on most cars of this era)

Hi thanks for your reply
It’s not the receiver iv replaced that to still have the same problem it’s strange cause the car will just turn over and not start till the heater plug light comes on

Sounds like ecu is not waking up for some reason, and the glow plug light is indicating when that happens. Maybe a faulty ecu. If you can get a matching part number, I can clone these.

Under the glovebox, you’ll need to strip a fair bit of trim back to get to it.
