Honda cars have no more problems with aftermarket parts than any other manufacturers

:D Very well put Jon. Nobody doubts OEM parts are best, but they're not always affordable for many people. I've had one or two successes buying second hand Acura TSX parts from dismantlers in the USA (e.g. exhaust flexi pipe, driveshaft) - genuine Honda parts with plenty of life left in them. Holdcroft will always be first port of call for new OEM though.
 
This thread ties in well with what I'm after.

So the Family 2.0 CL7 has developed its first "Major" issues since our ownership which we've had for 10+ years and 100k+ miles.

Brake Master Cylinder leaking needs replacing, all anti roll bar linkages need replacing, one of the wheel bearings on the back need changing.


So the owner (My old man) is looking to save on repairs, and since my brother is a mechanic we'll exploit that fact for some free labour.

I'll be searching the usual car part stores, what I'm after is what reputable brands to go for, for the above issues.

Lemforder suspension bits from Euros, and their premium wheel bearing/hub kit is as per the OE part including the same NTN bearing that Honda use.

No idea about the brake master cylinder, however in your situation, i'd open it up, and if the bore's still good, I'd order up a rebuild kit from Honda.
 
From personal (and ongoing) experience I can recommend Meyle HD drop links (ARB linkages). Put the fronts on about 3 years ago and the rears 2 years.

Not bought wheel bearings or brake MC.

For info, if you do buy from ECP 'MIDMONTH35' is their current promo code (35%). I'm not convinced that ECP is ever cheap though.
 
Thought as much Meyle and Lemforder were the ones to go to, Just bought a load of parts for my Z4 which were either the two, was just making sure if there was any other brands that specialised in Aftermarket Honda parts.

I'll Check ECP, also Carparts4Less (which is a sister company to ECP) tend to have parts with discount codes cheaper than ECP.

We'll have to investigate the cylinder a bit further, but I think the general consensus is swap it out, it's been like it for a good 6months+ and having to top up the fluid every few weeks is particularly scary which has also triggered a ABS warning light.

Speaking of ABS light, I read the code which I can't remember now but it's pointing to one of the back wheels, where is this sensor, is it part of the hub which would be changed with a bearing?
