Hi all... Looking to put a nice set of alloys on my cord but really dont know weather to put 17's or 18's as i am going to lower her 30 to 40 mm what size do you lot think is best or have on yours......

I have 17s on mine and it is not lowered. The ride is firm enough for me and I think would be too firm on anything bigger! In my opinion they filll the arch nicely for a standard car. http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/5617-just-had-the-urge/

Although my car is a 7th gen i wouldn't have thought the ride is to different to the 6th gen.

I am dropped 40mm on Apex springs and running 18's. 225/40/18 tyres and the ride is really not much different to how it was before to be honest, Maybe ever so slightly firmer.

My car was on standard suspension before on 17's 225/45/17 tyres.

Tell me about it

Depends how cold it is I guess.
      Thanks for that. Beer now coming out of my nose pmsl.

17s on a 6th gen fella. Anything bigger you run the risk of the car looking a little silly. And if you're planning to lower the car anyway then 17s will always look stunning!

in what way do you mean silly?? was thinking 18's because the car is a big car and didnt want the wheels looking too small for the car but would only drop it 30 if they were on but would drop it 40 if i had 17's on??

I have R17 rims installed 7.5j ET35 with 225/45 tires. And I would not like to put any bigger wheels because it begins touching inner fender ob corners on extreme driving. And it look quite good to me :)

I just meant that if you have 18s on a 6th gen then the car ends up looking a little like a max power-mobile. But each to their own really, so if you want 18s and like them them that's great. It's all down to personal taste really.

It does depend a lot on the style of the rims too. In all honesty with regard to lowering a 6th gen, a little drop is really all you need to set the car off. Also you have to think about how comfortable you'd like the car to remain when driving normally.

cool get what you mean.. I did pick the wheels up yesterday they are KEI RSGT and when i put next to the honda 16's on there now the 18's were actually slightly smaller overall and if i lower it will only be around 30mm max.. will be servicing and putting the wheels on tomorrow so will try and take some before and after pics and post them..

Sounds great dude!!! Really looking forward to the pics mate. Thats a good looking choice of wheel fella. As the spokes don't go all the way to edge of the rim they shouldn't look too big at all. When you day slightly smaller do you mean that the overall circumference is a little less than the 16s? Also does that include tyres?

Anywho, really looking forward to the pics dude.

what tires you are using on 18"? 235/35(40) r18 or 225/40-r18 ? I believe you can forget comfort riding with these wheels :)

I think they are 215/35/18... although not 100%.. although i will prob put at least 40 on when it comes time to change them

and what are dimensions of your wheel? (ET, width).

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp try to look how the final wheel set looks like.
