How to hit VTEC on 2.4 Auto

Okay guys, so as some of you may already know I recently purchased a 2004 2.4 Auto, however I was wondering exactly how I am meant to hit VTEC? When I drive over 60 mph the revs were not even upto 3000. I haven't been on a motorway as of yet unfortunately but am ***uming I would have to drive at over 100mph to get anywhere near 6000rpm.

vtec window on the stock k24 is very small and unuseable 6000-7100rpm but can be reflashed to engaged at 4600-7600.click on my link below for full details

So what's the point of Honda doing that then- Not a very well thought out idea.

i agree...and when you change up a gear at 7100 you fall out of vtec,so your always wait for vtec,when in vtec it lasts for only a few seconds

I guess I will have to forget about Vtec for now and maybe consider a remap in the near future. Thanks

If you've an Autobox, you can keep in in the high-rev zone by manually selecting the ratio to use? It's called sport-shift? I find it useful to drop to D3 when preparing to overtake to save time for the gearbox to drop the two gears... For fun keep in D3 - you can break it as the box won't less you mess too much.
