Hi,
Yesterday whilst driving home I the EML illuminated on the dash and the car went into limp home mode, this morning started the car and the EML was still illuminated, 30 mins later when I started the car the light had gone off and my car drove fine. I have been getting fumes/smell in the car for a few days, the manifold has been examined visually and it is not cracked.
Drove 20 miles to work, mechanic plugged it in top the PC and it through out fault "injector 2 short circuit" but the fault cleared.
The timing chain was changed 8 months ago, approx 4k miles ago.
The injectors all look clean.
I have read on this forum that the fumes/smell can be manifold or some people have had similar problems with fuel leaking in injectors.
What is the best way forward, as the fault has cleared on the PC but the smell is still there ever so slightly.
Will changing the seals help solve this or will I need to replace injector 2?
Kind Regards
Taz
