When accelerating hard and getting towards 4000 to 5000 revs (red line) my car jerks and begins to cut off. If I let go off the accelerator the car will recover itself but if I keep my foot down the yellow glow plug light will come on start flashing and then the engine cuts off.

Not a very good picture of the glowplug light but its in the bottom right corner. See here.

Have tested this many times and does not happen all the time, its abit hit and miss. Does appear to happen alot more when the engine is cold!!

I have read through some of the forums which suggests it may be a Fuel filter fault. Or could it be something different like a glow plug as I have changed fuel filter within the last 15k miles.

I have had a minor remap done over 100k miles ago and has never caused me a fault before.

Sounds like low fuel pressure but check the error code first

Is it a genuine filter?

The key is the flashing glow plug normally indicates fuel pressure problems

I would probably try a new fuel filter first for what it costs, but also try not to drive it hard when the engine is cold.

I will try a replacement fuel filter to begin with as not 100% sure who has a code reader near me. Only drive the engine hard from cold when you know your gonna be late for work as im sure we all do.
