Your opinions on this mob Gents - I've been looking everywhere for a modulator, and these are one of the few that have come up with a price, and claim to have it in stock.

Thing is, they're reviews are terrible - don't think I'll bother!

I haven't used them myself but if the reviews are bad i would hold out for another breakers.

I used them a few months back to pick up a thermostat housing interesting place. Put it this way I only used them as I picked it up and it was a non mechnaical / electrical item.

Not used them myself but I'll share a story of my own from this week.. after my car hit some debris on the motorway, I needed a new engine undertray. So I got a very reasonable price of £108 from Holdcroft. I thought I'll just also check with the breakers yards as it's only an undertray afterall.

Called the local mob at M and M Salvage in Halifax who claim to be Honda specialists... Yes mate we've got one, hundred quid!!

I said, hang on are we talking about the same part? Yes mate, the complete undertray it's quite big. I said yes it might be big, but its only £108 at the main dealer!!

OK.. £75 then.

I said No Thanks, don't waste my time or your own.

Rang a couple more breakers locally, most didn't have it as they tend to break. One had it, quoted £40 quid.. rang the next one, quoted £25 quid. Went down to pick it up, the part is virtually brand new off a 2007 car... he said just give me £20 ;)

So the moral of the story... all breakers are crooks

Just become a bigger crook then they are.

very well put my man it pays to shop around.

Last couple of times I have put a request into one of those breakers part search engines. You get emails and calls coming back pretty quickly. Give it a while and compare the offers that come back and go with the one you think is the best. B)

Thanks for the feedback gents, thought as much after reading the reviews.

Anyone know any reputable breakers where I could get a modulator?

I needed a fuel cap sensor and wiring loom for my old Pug. Main dealer wanted £50 with 12 months guarantee. The only breakers yard that had one wanted £40 for only part of the loom with a 2 week guarantee. Wow eh?!

I've usually done ok through eBay. Becs Mini needs a new numberplate light. BMW designed it so that you need the full trim. £150+ if you want it colour coded!!!! Theres onebon eBay going for 99p at the moment. Got my fingers crossed.

nice one Fahad ;) what breaker was this then? local one?

Found a pump/module on fleabay seems to match with the number I got off my pump - didn't get the numbers for the module - is it fair to make to ***umption they're the same?

I know everyone was feverishly beavering away to find the answer to my question, but you'll all be relieved to know that it does match. Ordering part tonight.

Fingers crossed Rob...

Fingers crossed Rob...

Indeed Dan, thanks.

The guy ***ures me the part is working - although he offers a 28 day warranty - plenty of time for me to get it to a mechanic I've found near me who can test the unit before I put it in the car.

£225 all in - not too bad I guess.

Certainly sounds like a good bet dude.

Are you gonna DIY fit?

Nah mate - get the garage to do it - too much hassle with two kids and no time!

 Know that feeling dude.
