Knock sensor fault

Hello.

2 days ago I was going home from work. After few miles I saw check engine light. I went to my garage friend straight away. We have connected car to OBM cable. It says that knock sensor is not answering.
I was pretty sure that something is wrong beacuse of changing ecu's. I have received test ecu on saturday, I was testing it for 3 days, so it was changed few times. We have deleted that error, I took battery out of the car for night but next day after few miles I have check engine light again.
Is it just sensor broken? Or it might be something serious damaged? Should I panic?


My main question is - my friend has knock sensor from K20, will it fit in K24?

Just buy a brand new one, they're very cheap. I've used this one in my wife's k20 FRV and no issues so far

Make sure it's correctly torqued to 31nm

Under and over tightening will cause problems. Trust me ive been there.

I'm going to try it. It should be delivered within 4-5 days. Can I drive for this time? It is my daily car, I need to go to work 23 miles one way every day.

Yes it will be ok but power slightly restricted as the ecu retards the timing as it can't detect knock
