Hi
I am new to this forum,I bought crv 2.2cdti problem with my car is lack of power some time it's OK and most of time there is no power when u driving on idling engine got full throttle and power, and other issue is car get overheat there is new water pump and thermostat been replaced. Need some help if any one can thanks

It really needs a diagnostic session to diagnose properly.

Do the easiest thing first which is to replace the fuel filter with a genuine Honda dealer filter.

If that doesn't solve it then most likely cause is the EGR valve or turbo. If you want to book with me I'll be able to pinpoint it.

And for the overheating, if you changed the water pump and thermostat are two options.
1. Thermostat is defective
2. You did not bleed the cooling system properly

Hi thanks for reply fahad I'll try to change file filter first and let see how it goes.
And thanks Jan accord thermostat opening coz booth top and bottom pipe getting hot I bleed system properly through bleeding nipple on side of head.

Before you changed the thermostat and water pump the engine was overheating?

Yes was over heating due to very slow water leak after sorting leak out wasn't overheat car just overheat under pressure.

Head gasket failure

Hmmm...why would overheat because head gasket? I'm just courious :)
There should be high preasure present in cooling system right?

When drive normal it's don't overheat only under pressure that's what make me curious as well.

It's logic... If the head gasket lack, the compression will escape in the cooling system so in this way you will get air in there so the water circulation is interupted...but...the water shoud blow somewhere out of the system because of excesive preasure

Sorry I misunderstood I thought I read it was losing water somewhere?

Yes if not losing water then more likely a stuck thermostat, or water pump not circulating. If you've eliminated those then check for air lock in the system or possibly a blocked heater matrix unit.

Everything is possible...engine overheating can be even caused because of exhaust restriction somewhere so in my opinion you should start from EGR like F6HAD said. Take it down and you will able to see if is clogged
