Low Ash Oil

As far as I understand it, oil such as 0W30 C2/3 is low saps and its purpose is to reduce the ash produced during combustion, so as to extend the life of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

If the DPF is removed (and the engine management system adjusted to cut out the regeneration process), can regular 0W30 engine oil be used as this would result in a big saving when doing engine oil changes.

Yes absolutely Pete. Low saps no longer required following DPF removal. Just a regular fully synthetic 0w30 will be fine.
