hi all new to this forum but not to thaoc of old...firstly cheers to alnug for sorting this forum out for us secondly...

i have an '04 weezly-diesely (ex ex demo with all the toys) that was chipped by celtec about 18 months ago and pleased to say everything is still as tight and linear as it was then (bearing in mind she now has 144k on her!) however as i do upwards of 300 miles a day in the beast im getting a bit bored again havin gotten use to its new found power...simply, whats the next level? do i go charge cooler, bigger turbo and inlet etc or is 180 at fly the most i could do to remain relatively frugal ( still somewhere in the 40's) any ideas on a modest budget greatful received cheers, al

We can make over 190bhp (i'm running a special 192bhp with EGR off at the moment) but it's not the bhp that's the issue, it's the torque.

The torque is the clutch killer, so unless you want to get a new aftermarket clutch something like a CG Motorsport jobbie like the Civic boys are using then I'd say that's your limiting factor.

had far do you think the ictdi lump can be taken in a safe reliable way?
358lb of torque as claimed in the crv would be mega.
with an uprated clutch, turbo and remap could be a fairly rapid big motor

I thought Celtic offered a 193bhp at the flywheel for the 2.2CTDI ???

As F6HAD mentioned, a new clutch would allow you to put a few torque's on the tarmac.

Programming horse is one thing, getting it to work reliably over time is another entirely.

The engine isn't the limiting factor, it's everything else. FMIC is the way to go and then look at bigger injectors and turbo.. but I don't think there is a clutch strong enough to cope with all that just yet. The CRV you are referring to was on our dyno last week and we improved it ;) Check Civinfo for more info.

Not to mention on top of that the DMF will fall to pieces fairly quickly, and consider driveshaft reliability.

Out of interest what is the duty cycle and intake temps @ 190bhp Fahad.

I'll tell you in private next we meet Sal.

Sounds interesting Trevor. What power is it turning out now? I bet a few people get a surprise!

I'm running an Elite map courtesy of Fahad and I love every minute of it. If anyone is thinking and worried about reliability I can say it is a very reliable map and one which you know has had some time spent on it to refine it over time.
I will now only deal with Elite and more importantly Fahad as he's a genuine guy and the service and product they supply is very high. I'm sure pretty much every member on this forum can say the same.

Shabz, is that the new map with the egr off your talking about? 192bhp? How does it compare with the stage one map???

Nice to see you here Trevor ;)

Shab, thanks for that.

Waj - nobody but me is running the special Stage 2 with EGR off right now. We're still perfecting it. Going back on the dyno on Sunday where I'll meet Trevor too.

It's nice to pop in.

Don't have any proper output figures off elites rolling road yet as David was still going through tthe commisioning process.
All 4 sensors weren't speaking to each other, which is kind of a important on 4wd.

Know the car is going well though as yesterday an Audi tt 3ltr couldn't shake me off his bumper :)

Wow remind me never to try it on with any CRV's around the Leeds area lol. Looking forward to hearing what figures its pushing out.

interesting input guys thanks for opening my eyes...have changed the clutch at 135 when i rebuilt the box, i used a honda item and flywheel which admittedly wernt cheap, although was told that unlike audi owners that swop for a single rather than dual mass th icdti cannot be changed is that correct? also celtic offered me the 180 to remain fairly frugal but linear as the amount of driving i do would negate the extra umph. have considered better injectors and a new turbo but might source another lump and strengthen internals first as then i can play aorund trouble is i dont think its gonna be cheap and with a crx resto and civic to run might prove a little  lol willl keep u posted cheers for the advice all, al

Good stuff Trevor, you may want to start a thread of your own to chart your progress.

Trevor Ive removed your post as its not applicable to the 8th gen accord or idtec engine.

If you would like to start your own thread please do so.
