Mounting a K&N Filter to the stock intake hose?

like you said we do not have to worry about a MAS and its placement so should be a easy mod!

My personal opinion is that everyone who owns a Honda with a Vtec unit fitted should have an induction kit fitted purely for the noise....just ask Brett

Just don't blame 'us' when your fuel bill doubles pmsl

 I like your thinking. But talking as a flat cap and slipper wearing Honda Accord driver, this modification has cost the same as 1 tank of petrol and will improve my low rev mpg ;) . I seriously estimate that in theory it will pay for itself in a year (***uming I keep it under control ;))

Talking as a 27 year old petrol head with an iVTEC engine, Brrmmm-rmm-rmm-rmm-rmm-rmm (the -rmm-rmm is the engine bouncing off the rev limiter :D )

Steve we both are in the same boat, If we get this its only a slippery slope down hill to performance gains and more noise

Amen to that Brotha

My fuel economy has gone up because I just love the noise lol

mwhahahahaha.

It goes

Brmmmmmm-Clcik-MMMMMMMMMMM

my car I want to have a whine noise in the back ground too and me going '' OH #### that Fing fast'' then laughing hysterically lol

I will sort this mod out asap, man I am hooked, The bristol meet needs more noise

By the way mate im down your way in a couple of weeks got to work away. Its on the new Morrison in Eastbourne.

Cheers Brett I should everything I need, but it's good to have these links, just in case. That's cool man. You must let me know when you're in town man. I'll have to give the car a clean if another forum member's going to be seeing it

Yep will do how far away from the new Morrison store are you.we're staying in Hailsham

I live near the town centre, but about 10 minutes in the car from the Morrison's development.

Sound I better clean my car a well then lol
It will be good to see this mod in the flesh and we can compare sound lol

Nah, don't clean your car. That way, I won't have to bother cleaning mine either  .

Dirty cars just won't do pmsl

I hear that your car represents your personality, so if its filthy your mind is ............haha

 I spend too much time on here when I could be cleaning my car  . Mind you, living in a town flat with street parking does make it a little harder to keep on top of things. If I had a driveway, boy I'd have large water bills ;) .

thanks steve, I am sure I will do it, been on my jobs to do list since jan ;)

Ok, I actually phoned them this morning to double check my concern about the clamping to the silicone hose. He said it was designed to clamp onto things, not to be clamps onto, if you follow, so it would likely not be suitable. I've swapped the item for this. The guy was a legend too, said not to worry about the price difference ;) .

So to sum up we're looking at:

This K&N Air Filter
This Heat Shield
This Alloy Hose Joiner
This Hose Clamp (just in case)
This Air Duct Pipe

Hopefully it will all arrive tomorrow and fit in ok. I'll take plenty of pictures and do a separate writeup from this thread.

That's a cool looking list dude!! Are you going to fit it as soon as you get it?

Oh, and remember to take some pics dude!!! We love seeing cars beiong 'fettled' with on here.

Hell yeah! I'll fit it tomorrow, as soon as the stuff arrives, and take plenty of photos, do a proper DIY write up etc. The perks of working in Private Education mean I have the whole of July and August off work so plenty of time to tinker with projects like this ;). Got the car in the garage tomorrow morning having some suspension bushes sorted. Hopefully I won't miss the delivery, but knowing my luck I will  .

Looking forward to the DIY steve.
2 months off with pay you lucky bloke lol

Yeah but in term time, the hours are long, longer than state schools by far, I work Saturdays :( , late evenings on Wednesdays, and as a Music teacher, I'm often in late with concerts and what not. And you don't really stop in the day. There's no such thing as a break time as you're normally dealing with students through break and lunch, or running rehearsals or whatever. It's part of the unwritten "extra service and dedication to the cause" that's part of the school's culture  . Then again, if I was paying £30K a year for my kids education, I'd expect a pretty outstanding educational/pastoral support network  .

Last week was the first week of my holiday and it took me all week to mentally go down a gear. Private education really pushes the kids and the teachers hard  . I was proper on my knees. Kinda why I wanted to treat myself a little car tinkering ^_^ .

you sound like a cool music teacher, modifying cars and organizing concerts, mine never helped me out with music, it was only until I left school I excelled in playing the guitar. hey if you smart enough you sign all the kids up to a contract that takes 10% of any future success royalties, so you can retire early if any of them make it big.

That's not all man ;) . On the last day of term this year, one my students brought his XBox360 into school and they all lined up and took turns against me on Super Street Fighter IV. No one took a single round off me. I absolutely handed their arses to them on a plate  .

Also, one of my students (just finished) has a remapped Mark 6 Golf TDI, claims some 220bhp apparently. So I showed him some naturally aspirated VTEC goodness and left him behind one evening on the dual carriageway on the way home ;) .

Teacher of the Year comes to mind, Glad you kick *** at street fighter. I just downloaded it on the xbox 360, the old street fighter 2, its ace, still got the moves ;)

It's a classic for sure. Nothing quite compares to the Street Fighter gaming franchise. Street Fighter 2 really set a precedent that in my opinion no other fighting game franchise can top.

Yes there are arguably too many iterations of the game, but for connoisseurs it goes:

Best of 2:

Super Street Fighter 2 X: Grand Master Challenge (The US/Europe version is called Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo but the AI is bonkers hard, less well balanced many say)
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (great revamp available as DLC on X360 and PSN of Super Turbo with Udon Comics drawn animation, but seriously rock hard!)

Best of Alpha/Zero

Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 (although some argue 2 has slightly nicer balance of gameplay)

Best of 3:

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike (The online version on X360 and PSN is blinding)

Best of 4:

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (Version 2012 Update) - This is by far my most played game this year

Just don't mention the original Street Fighter 1 - that was a bag of poo  .

Oh, and it always helps to play on something like this ;) :

Probably my favourite for nostalgia is Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition as that's what I used to play most in the Arcades as a kid. When playing on the cab at home, I always seem to go back to that over the others ^_^ .
