My grille arrived - Anyone confirm Derv or Petrol fit?

Well my grille turned up today. I've held it up to the front of the car and the aperture for the bonnet latch appears to be in exactly the same place. Can any of you good Accordites confirm if this will unexpectedly fit my 2.4 petrol?

won't fit mate, mountings are different... slam panel is slightly different with bonnet catch/release and also the trim cover (item 3) is also different with different locations of the holes, look at the two pics below : -

Wow, seems like a very un-Honda thing to do, to have two different grill fitments/slam panels...

Petrol and diesel bumpers don't even fit as the diesel bumper is slightly wider due to inter cooler.

Pretty certain it won't be the same bud. Derv have a few changes over petrol at the front end as Jav and Shabz mentioned.

Suppose it is worth trying, but don't force anything.

Andy, it definitely does not fit - trust me.

However if it does fit, all I can suggest is that it came of a Petrol Type S and not the Diesel Sport that was in the picture (it was a breakers afterall).

Ah well! The dream is over. Thanks guys for all the advice and you are indeed correct....It doesn't fit the petrol. Seems a really unnecessary design difference to me!

Some pics for Shabz....sorry about the grainy quality mate, artificial light at night in the kitchen and a cheapy camera don't do it any favours tbh.
