Hey Guys,

First post...here goes!

After owning a W plate accord for 3 years and it costing me next to nothing...replacing it with a Y plate BMW that cost me more in the first month compared to the entire duration of accord ownership...I'm back!. The BMW was sadly written off by someone who doesn't know what a brake pedal is...

My insurers hooked me up with a brand new Jaguar XE diesel! I fell in love with the economy so decided to stick to diesel. Covering over 2k miles a month, this seemed to make sense!

It is now on 151k and has that general diesel shake at standstill which I'm not worried about (I would be interested to learn what causes this though)...however! She has developed a rather more violent shake which only happens periodically. If I turn her off and on again (IT Crowd Style), it stops...just the same when I drive her forward a little or give it some revs. It's only happened about 3/4 times in the past week. When it does happen, you can visibly see the steering wheel move.

Is this something to worry about?

She's in for an MOT any day now and already needs a new wheel sensor as all three VSA and handbrake lights are always on (Garage has pre-diagnosed this...not the pump thankfully!).

Thanks in advance,

Warm Regards,

Alex

sounds like the early signs of a dual mass flywheel failure.

Nope more likely on idle as worn DMF springs will cause the engine to be out of balance.
