Hi All

I just bought my first Honda Accord 7th Gen and have a few problems with the car that I need to get resolved.

Can you help if possible and tell me what steps you would take to troubleshoot my fog light problem?

With the ignition and or engine on I turn on both sets of fog lights and both symbols on the dashboard illuminate, however, none of the fog lights on the car turn on.

do you mean front or rear ?

Headlights have to be on, are they on ?

If headlights are on, there is only one fog on the rear, has the bulb gone ?

As Brian said possibly lamps are gone or check your fuses

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to help out :)

do you mean front or rear ? Both

Headlights have to be on, are they on ? Yes headlights are on

If headlights are on, there is only one fog on the rear, has the bulb gone ? I thought maybe not as no fog lights front or rear are working....

Strange enough...my friend who also has a 7th Gen Accord has the exact same issue :D

I see that you live in Leicester, I live in Loughborough and one of my sons lives in Leicester, I could arrange a visit :)

I'll do the basics first as you suggest - bulbs and fuses and update when done.

Hi Brian - yep in Leicester...for my sins

I'm pretty sure the front ones have a relay up behind the front bumper, but yes check fuses and bulbs too

Bulbs and fuses checked - they all appear good no breaks or burns.
I can hear a click when I turn on the fog lights too.

Onto the relay next then - Does anyone know where the relay is exactly??

I can only find reference to a front fog light relay...

^ I thought there were a couple of relays in the under-dash fuse/relay box, but there aren't
so I had a look on my service DVD, the relay seems to be in a box attached to the main fuse/relay box in the engine compartment

Ah ok yep I found that box of fuses under the bonnet and I think I also only saw reference to a front fog fuse. Is the relay in that box too or am I getting confused? Will check again tomorrow when it's light again.

Thanks a lot

this might help, a picture tells a thousand words LOL

apart from the fact that the steering wheel seems to be on the wrong side in that view, I've no idea why they put the note in the top left

Fog light relay for front should be on drivers side front wheel well bolted to the side of the headlamp. You will have to unclip the bumper from the side. at least my 05 diesel has it there

My front fogs don't work either

Thanks very much.... Will have a look the diagrams tomorrow on my notebook - can't make out a thing on my iphone screen

So there is either a relay under the bonnet or behind the bumper...sounds like fun lol didn't expect to be taking off bumpers but if needs must...hopefully the diagram will also help me understand how the rear fog connects / can be fixed too.

^ yeah it would seem that on the petrol models (certainly the 2.4) there is enough room in the engine compartment for loads of bits and bobs that on the diesel have to be shoved in all sorts of inconvenient places.
So, as well as the link in #15, the view in #14 is also for the petrol models.
