Hi

I know there are a few threads on headlight adjustments but none answer the question.

I know how to adjust the up/down and left/right thanks to the UTube article but I can't.

That is to say that the left/ right on both headlights can be adjusted but when it comes to the left right adjustment on both headlights nothing happens when I turn the screwdriver both ways. The castellated nut turns but no adjustment.

Before I start what looks like a marathon job to dismantle the headlights, can anyone tell me what might be the problem and how to sort it.

Regards

So, for clarity, you have up/down adjustment, but no left/right?

The left/right mechanism is even simpler than the up/down one. But it has a limit, if someone has over tightened the nut, then it will spin without any further adjustment. Stripping the headlight won't help much here (and it's a major pain in the a**). How much is the beam out?

Hi Jayok

Thanks for replying

The left is not far out but could provide better illumination if it was adjusted right a bit. Both headlight l/R adjustments are not working so it seems that you could be right. It feels as if what you say has happened. I took the car into a Honda body shop a while back to have paint splashed rectified and they must have been the culprits.

When you say its a major pain in the a** - how come?

Perhaps I'll leave well enough alone.

Regards

It's a pain in so far as, splitting the headlights. You need heat and it's difficult to reseal. Honestly you are better off getting a set from a breakers.

Also if the l/r nuts have been over tightened then the plastic guide would have been destroyed. If the lights were separated you'd still gave to plastic weld or whatever the guide - not worth it Imo.

If you need better light output the get night breakers or similar - the default bulbs in the Accord are cack.

BTW- I ***ume you don't have HIDS?
