Hello, first post I've made here but I've just bought an 06, 2.0 saloon and I'm loving it except for a weird issue; If the windows are 100% up there is more wind noise or if it's wet more wet spray noise. If I tap the window-down buttons to nudge the windows down a bit they seem to grip the seal better and the extra noise goes away. The window also creaks a bit more over bumps when fully up too.

So far I've cleaned the seals completely and sprayed silicone grease down all the tracks but the problem still exists. I'm going to try the window adjustment procedure on Tuesday to press the windows closer to the seal but has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thanks

Since I fitted under-seal wind deflectors, I've had a similar issue. I kinda ignore it as I usually have my music very loud anyway :rolleyes: . I have heard that sometimes there can be a little wind noise from the very front of the front door windows. When you're up to speed and the noise is present, run your hand around the top edge of the window, especially near the front and listen for a change in tone of noise. This will tell you where the air is slipping in. As for how to stop the noise, I don't know, sorry :unsure: .

This is an old thread to resurrect but I've found the problem and hope to fix it so if anyone else has the issue then they can solve it too;

For some reason the front driver's side window is moving outwards at the bottom much more than the other windows - when it reaches the top the motor keeps going a little bit and the window settles a little bit further out at the bottom. What this does is cause one side of the window to move away from the weatherstrip on the door trim which stops it sealing, this is letting splash/road noise leak through the seal from within the door itself. Nudging the window down slightly fixes the issue by re-sealing it.

So it looks like I either need to realign the window glass or replace the seal.
