Accord tourer i-ctdi
Hi to all

I've been looking at the possibility of servicing my accord diesel myself, but I have come up against two issues

Firstly the oil filter is being very elusive. Having looked around the engine bay at some length, Honda have disguised or hidden it so well I can't find it.

Secondly are there any workshop Manuel's out there for the 7th gen 2.2 ictdi tourer as this would be very handy in stripping the rear brakes. Having had to pay for the near side rear to be replaced already I would prefer to keep on top of maintainance to the parts that I can deal with.

Any help or enlightenment would be great, thanks

Personal preference, but I do oil and filter every 6K miles. You can leave it as long as 12K (Honda's interval) if you choose to.

Using TA's affiliated suppliers (they will become visible to you when you've made a few more posts) you can put on a genuine Honda filter and fill it with 0w30 oil for rather less than £40. If you've any mechanical aptitude at all (and a few common tools) it's a no brainer. A strong grip or a strap wrench will do, but I'd invest in one of those large pressed steel oil filter sockets (£10-£15 off eBay) as they make life a lot easier. You'll struggle for a service manual. They come up on eBay from time to time, but are usually for the American market which doesn't help much with diesels. Not a waste of money though.

Study the forum. There is a wealth of info on here. This might interest you:

Even the owners manual tells you how to do an oil change and even transmission fluid change on this car.

Thank you, that is a handy clip. I did wonder about that drum at the front of the engine, it just seemed a little high up to be an oil filter.

That's going to make oil changes very easy

Matt I agree with you about the 6k oil change I used to do them with the previous oil burners I've had. I don't agree with just 12k servicing as turbos generally don't like knackered oil

Figured there was a manual problem. But I do see that a popular manual writing company (Haynes) has done the Honda Jazz and CRV up to the 2008 models and including diesel models in the latter. I'll keep my eyes open for any other NEW honda books.

At what mileage should the tranny oil be carried out any guesses

MTF is recommended @ 75k miles, but as said, it is still noticeable if done earlier.

That is a masterpiece of a write up, kudos to you for that and for taking the time to put it together
