And still...
Yep Honda say A1 or A3 in my manual.
So you know better than Honda's engineers! Hopefully you've written to them to inform them of this terrible mistake? The official Honda recommendation for the 7th gen petrol is 0W 20 believe it or not, as Honda are pushing an environmental agenda. It's a semi-synthetic though and IMHO the 2.4 deserves better.
I have no idea what that actually means. But, being an engineer, I suppose I am meant to feel insulted? Perhaps all car servicing decisions should be based upon hope, belief and random guesses! What was it Nevile Shute said about engineers? Someone who will do for five bob what any fool can do for a quid.

We don't all hang out together, you know... I happily mix with non-engineers.He was an engineer himself so I ***umed you'd know...
Agree... I have a theory that the Honda recommendations of very thin engine oils (e.g. 0w20 for the petrol and 0w30 for the diesel) are based upon improving fuel economy rather than effectively lubricating the engine....I suspect some of these decisions are out of the engineers' hands. At the end of the day Honda like everyone else have to shift units to budget conscious fleet managers.
