So, missus takes the kiddies to school and decided to introduce my pride and joy into one of its arch rivals. No, not the 4x4 driver who cant drive, but the pavement. Takes out the front offside tyre, destroys the alloy and bends the lower control arm. Phones me up to say, oh, ive clipped the kerb and now the car is making funny noises and doesnt drive straight.

Needless to say, when I got to where she was, I wasnt exactly jumping with joy. She was adamant that she barely touched the kerb and doesnt know what happened and couldnt believe that in order to destroy a rim and bend a control arm, you are doing more than just suffering a glancing blow and got quite offended at the suggestion that she wasnt telling me the truth. Women!!

Not a happy fella this morning now.

Sometimes I get annoyed that my Mrs doesn't drive. You know, the whole, Dad's Taxi service thing. But the reading this, reminds me of why I'm actually glad I'm the only driver in my household.

Really sorry for you man. Hope you can get it all sorted without too much expense or hassle.

Oh dear...I feel for you mate.

Coming from a household of 'that's what bumpers are for' and ' well you shouldn't have such small tyres' I can fully understand..........it's the CAR's fault for damaging itself so much with just a little tap on the kerb!!!!!!

This is why my wife doesn't drive my car lol

Feel your pain mate, I even get annoyed when she damages her own car, cos it's me that has to run around trying to fix the damn thing!!!!!!!!!

Stevearcade - my Mrs never used to drive any cars, was frustrating at some times, and a relief at others. Oh well, at least the kids werent hurt and thats the important thing at the end of the day. Not like the car has bad tyres though. Bridgestone Potenza with just under 3000 miles on them, so thats over 100 notes a pop - pardoning the pun.

Anyways, I think I will use this as an excuse to try to manipulate some new alloys for the car and play on the guilt trip a little...lol. Some Type R Rage ones would do nicely and it would be amazing if some new lowering springs just happened to materialise out of thin air as well. All under the pretence of "yes, well I have to repair the suspension now don't I". Its a long shot, but Im gonna try. The alloy is buckled sideways, so she didnt impact the pavement head on as such, but I got no idea how she did it as I dont believe that it was just a little tap. Car is on those horrid space saver wheels at the moment until I can get it sorted today or tomorrow.

I think I will try to blame Honda for making a car which falls apart whenever a woman touches it...lol. I drive it harder than she does and it never ever gives me trouble - go figure !!
