honda accord 2.2
Hi folks, new to this. I have read up on previous threads, but no resolve as of yet.

Just bought an accord a few weeks ago and I love it! But, now and again when accelerating hard it will cut out and go into limp mode. When I connect the reader it gives out error code 'p1065'.

I replaced the fuel filter, non oem part. It still happens though. It is also hesitant to accelerate at times and is very jerky.. sorry for bring this topic up again, but it's driving me mad and I really want to get it fixed!

thanks in advanced!

***uming you've fitted a non-OEM (Bosch for pre-facelift or Denso for facelift) fuel filter, then replace that first before wasting time and money elsewhere.

I could suggest you replace the fuel pump, fuel pump regulator or fuel rail pressure sensor but these are all much more expensive than the fuel filter.

Welcome to TA.

I know it's hard to believe, but yes! It's been reported here and elsewhere on multiple occasions and I've 'repaired' two Honda diesels simply be fitting the proper filter. A good indication of a filter problem is the P1065 DTC, often accompanied by a P0087.

These engines are oddly sensitive to the greater flow restriction given by almost all aftermarket alternatives. I can't guarantee that fitting the correct OEM filter will definitely fix the current problem, but it would be daft not to get this right first before moving on to the more expensive things that might also cause the P1065.
