Accord 2.2 diesel
Hi.
Bought a Honda Accord 2.2 diesel Mk7 recently. Got a code reading P2004. Does anyone know if a dose of Cataclean would help clean and clear it?
Thanks.

IMRC valve is dead. There is a revised part. Get a genuine new one from Honda. Around £100 i think. Easy job to replace - takes 5 mins if that.

Cataclean is a waste of money on this fault.

Hi, and thanks for your reply. Is the part you mean the IMRC FREQUENCY SOLENOID VALVE?

I have a spare one in my garage. Im pretty sure its the revised updated part number. I will have a look.

Have a read around, this error doesn’t mean the part is dead it means the intake flap is sticking. That is caused by a build up soot on the intake manifold. You can change the part but it will just happen again unless you address the route.

drop me a line, we can run a diagnostic and check the operation of the part. You may benefit from an egr off solution which will ensure your intake stops taking in any more soot.
