Ok im aware theres a thread on this for disease-als *cough* diesels

I couldn't find one for petrol, if there is delete this.

Ok so what is your best and worst mpg you have ever got from your Accord

Describe the engine you have as much as possible ie engine code or trim level, size etc whatever.

Ill start things off,

4th Gen CB3 F20a8 (2.0i) worst 22mpg best 36mpg

your guys turn!

7th Gen 07 Plate 2.0 EX...

worst - 23.5mpg

best - 49.2mpg

I'll post my data sometime at the end of the week as I'm travelling at the moment.

Worst is about 27, best a bit over 40, average 33, K20A6 CM1 Tourer.

Interesting to see what other petrol drivers are getting.

2006 7th gen facelift model, 2.4 Type S.

According to trip computer:

Worst 19mpg
Best 38mpg

JS.

I get a range of just under 300 miles from a full tank 2003 2.4 exec tourer auto. I dont have a mpg readout on my car.

Remember your trip computers will be quite a way off - usually on the generous side too.

I won't comment on my *cough* mpgs

7th gen CM2 2.4 Tourer Exec, K24A3, 6-speed manual, running an AEM induction kit.

Worst 23mpg
Best 39mpg

Dan the computer is very accurate mate, mine is only off 0.3mpg I work it out all the time.

Really? Mine is off by upwards of 6 mpg? My Tranny's is even worse (through software scanning the OBD port) it reports 5 mpgs under across the board.

We all seem to be getting roughly the same mgg...My 2.4 Type S Tourer returns the following (when I haven't got the THULE bike racks & Aero bars on):
Best 36mpg (motorway using C/C & no aircon), worst 25mpg. As most of my driving is round town / school run / work my combined drops to about 25mpg with my roof bars / bike racks. Car seems to do a bit better when doing long runs and the tank is brimmed with super unleaded. I do tend to keep track of the mpg figures when doing the large fill-ups, always sourcing the best price! Definitely a gr8 drivers car - I thought my '98 Nissan Primera GT was a blast to drive but this goes so much better

Using a calculator :)

Best : 37mpg
Worst *cough* 7 *cough* ;)

Interesting figures coming about, mainly about the same for the 7th gens, comparing to mine then, the worst seems to be about the same ( apart from Simons R Oh dear man haha) but the newer engine technology has allowed for better fuel eco when motowaying. so basically a bigger range between them both.

Nice stuff dudes Keep em coming!

Issac how did you get those figures? That's a brilliant print out!!!!

Every time I put petrol in the car I fill it to the top. I write down the mileage and the amount of fuel (as well as price per litre and total price paid). I have a little book in the glovebox to write the numbers in. Once in a while I put the numbers in a spreadsheet and calculate the mpg, average mpg, etc. I also keep note of when service items are done in this spreadsheet (eg oil changes, alignments, tyres, fuel injector cleaner, etc). It's a great document to be able to give the next owner of the car, and also allows me to connect any changes in fuel economy with a change in tyres, or servicing, etc.

Hey

I'm trying to get my head around fuel figures for the 2.4 executive/type s saloon manual.

I do about 150-200 miles MAX per week, what would be my fuel costs per week given the current fuel prices?

Thanks

If thats town driving I reckon around £35 - 40 .

From your previous posts you seem very hung up on MPG, if so is this really a good choice of engine for your impending purchase.

What sort of driving do you you do per week? Mainly urban, ex-urban? If you are doing decent runs, letting the engine get good & hot, no reason why you shouldn't be getting somewhere near the combined mpg of 29.9 (manufacturers claimed figs). Avoid using aircon as little as poss / tyres correctly inflated (all the usual obvious stuff) you should be ok. I've found that some of the supermarket superunleaded is just as good as the premium brands and can be within a couple of pence of reg unleaded at premium filling stations. Best thing you can do is start monitoring the mpg figs next time you fill up :))

Hi - I have driven 118,000 miles in my 2.4 Type-S.. I get around 30mpg averaged out - never calculated it precisely but I think also 35+ on motorway journeys so long as you don't nail it. Also, although it feels more responsive to me on super unleaded, I have used cheapo 95 ron for all but 3 or 4 tankfuls in all those miles, without any noticed ill effect.

7th gen CL9 K24a3

BEST = 37mpg down to drury lane and back on one tank of fuel ;)

WORST = <25 probably in the first few weeks of ownership, too much vtec ya see

K24 A3 Type S, Mainly A road dual carriageways with some town driving (75%/25% split)

Prior to remap - Avg 35.7mpg, Best 38.2, worst 31.2.

After remap - Avg 35.4mpg, best 39.9mpg, worst 30.9mpg

Im having to keep my option open at the mo CJ, work commitments mean i cannot commit to anything at the moment however if i find myself free on the day i will be coming.
