Morning,

New to the forum and fairly new to owning my Honda Accord so firstly hello and I hope this forum is as helpful as the ford one was with my previous cars...

Ok, got a 2004 Honda Accord Estate - 2.4 Executive and all of a sudden, the parking sensors arent working...

Other info - I also discovered some standing water in my spare wheel recess - not masses but enough... could be the terrible weather we have had but dont know how it got in there. No water marks present in boot e.g. wet carpets etc...

What would people advise as the best way forward for either issues and are the issues likely to be linked?

Thanks,

Leigh

Welcome to the forum. Check your drainage hole in the spare tyre well isn't blocked with anything and make sure your parking sensors aren't just really dirty. It could be moisture from the spare tyre well getting into the electrics, so maybe sort the drainage and then let things dry out for a couple of days.

Where is the hole? How big is it? The parking sensors seem clean.. the car has been cleaned etc...

I will dry it out if the weather permits and see what happens...

Not sure exactly where the drainage hole is, but I'm sure there will be one somewhere in the bottom of the boot. But it could be another drainage point from a seal somewhere that's blocked and water's finding its way in. Check round all the seals on the boot and look for signs of watermarks etc.
