Sat nav issue

I managed to get hold of a genuine 2.10 version sat nav disc for my 2004 Accord. I sold the 2.03v. Is there a specific method of installing the new disc?
I ask because I'm getting the dreaded error message. The old disc never gave me any issues. There doesn't seem to be anything in the diagnostics regarding install.
I've tried the ruler with a wet wipe to no avail...

all advice/opinions appreciated.

It should just automatically do a firmware upgrade, tell you to leave engine running and not move the car and then that be that until it's finished doing its thing. But when I once tried a firmware upgrade in my car, it triggered the lens failure in my satnav DVDROM drive. I reckon the lens was on its way out and the upgrade process was too demanding for it. Was game over. Cost £250 odd to get it sorted.

Cheers for the reply. It's definately not doing it automatically. I have read up on several threads about lens failure.
I might just bite the bullet and remove the drive and have the lens repaired. It's definately going to be in the new year though.
