I have tried disconnecting the battery terminal but this hasn't worked. What can i do????

Sorry. :)

Never did have much faith in satnav, believing as I do that it's just another part of the great "dumbing-down" conspiracy by the lizard people, or somebody.

Whats s memorey? do u mean were the cars been on previous trips???? I ve done that before and there is nothing there....trried cleaning disc its pretty scrached but still the same thing happens! Any one else have an idea or been in the same position?

Press 'Menu' and 'Zoom down' button at the same time this will get you into a diagnostic menu, it's a tab on one of the screens - sorry can't remember exactly which one so you'll have to have look. The tab says something like 'clear memory' or similar to that, when you press that tab it will warn you you're about to clear the memory and reset the system.

could be the scratches doing you!

Take the disc to your local Game or Gamestation or possibly an indi video game store. Most of them have disc cleaning/buffing machines for cleaning up second hand games before resale. Get the scratches buffed out of the dic for a fiver and then see how you get on.

tried the cleaning of the disc. tried the negative battery disconnect. Finally got into the Hidden menu thing but htere is loads of things in there that i dont know what to do!!! Still need help what shall i do?

Press menu and zoom at the same time hold for 2 seconds, you will see the link system and fanfare click the next option three times, then select unit check, then FORCE DOWNLOAD. The system will then restart and reload the disc in the slot. ENSURE YOU HAVE THE ENGINE RUNNING DURING THIS PROCEDURE... The unit will then show a green progress bar and then the unit will restart and sort itself out. Info from NAVIMAPS it did not work for me but maybe you will get lucky.

im having the same problem now with the strip at the bottom

That is what happened to me, I did say I was not successful. I cured mine with the knife and wet wipe method. But now that winter is coming first time booting is out of the question. I just cancel mine by manually switching to A/C then let the screen shut down. Eject the disc later when warm rub it on my shirt stick it back in the slot and hey presto! it starts up. Get yourself a road map for Christmas, far better. LOL

ok i think iv cracked it this time i was using a fm transmitter which was plugged in the cigarette lighter all the time i think it was interfering with the satellite signals
so i took it out and the satnav is working again
