Hi

I need advice in relation to my vehicle I purchased about 3 weeks ago.

My Vehicle Service History is as follows;

12k at Retford Honda
25k at Retford Honda
41k at Retford Honda
55k at Retford Honda
64k at Trade Dealer I purchased Vehicle From

My Vehicle has done 65k and I asked the Trader I purchased the Vehicle what was carried out during the recent service

They replied

All Lights and Fluid Levels were checked and topped up.
Replaced Oil Filter and Oil (0-30W Fully Synthetic).

My question is what have they not done during this service???

Ibbi going by your service record the one at 55k should have had all the filters changed. So in effect the 65k is only an oil and filter change.I would do another oil change though for piece of mind. Also your coolant should be changed at 62.5k or 5 years.
The next big service is your 75k one.

3rd year service should also have had a brake fluid change.

When a dealer says 'fluids have been checked' that does not automatically mean changed.

Personally I'd change all the filters and fluids just so you know that everything is up to date. You can get all filters from HH for under £75.

Does Honda keep a record of what they carried out on a particular service even if it goes back a couple of years?

It should be all on record.Whether they will tell you is another thing.

Could you give us a list of what I would need?

By the way I purchased my Vehicle from Peterborough (CarWorld) :D

Just ask for a full service kit.The kit will come like this.

OIL FILTER
AIR FILTER
FUEL FILTER
POLLEN FILTER

If you need a discount code pm me.I will need your email if you require the code.
I would change the coolant as well/ your brake fluid should have been done at your 41k service.

Thanks for the valuable info Brett! :D

I have also e-mailed Retford Honda for some info so will wait for their response! :D

Thats what we are here for mate happy to help.

TBH dealers are notorious for email response, you'd be FAR more satisfied with just calling them :)

Thanks for the advice Alan, was going to phone them as a last resort if they didn't respond to me by e-mail! :D

That's one heck of a drive for a car. But then I got mine from York so....

Your car may also benefit from changing the gearbox oil as well. Some members have reported noticeably smoother gear changes after an oil change.

ps DIY service guides are all on the forum.

Really for the small cost of parts and oil these days, it's worth just servicing the oil, air and fuel filters for complete peace of mind. I never trust dealer stamps.

Below is info derived from an e-mail I received by Martin in relation to my query from Holdcroft Honda;

Regarding the parts for a full service for a accord:

Oil filter
Sump washer
Air filter
Fuel filter
Pollen filter
Gear box oil (Due at 75000 miles or 6 years)
Brake fluid (Due at 75000 miles or 6 years)

Spoke to Retford Honda

They say you don't need to change the Glow Plugs as it is not on their schedule. Is this True???

That would be true. Glowplugs don't need changing unless they are faulty. They are not a service item.

Yep glow plugs are not a normal service item like spark plugs on a petrol car.

So if all is well they don't need to be changed?

Sorry to sound a bit thick?

Thanks for your help guys! :D
