Shell VPD and ECU reset?

Does anyone recommend resetting the ECU after changing to VPD? I know some other car forums I'm on suggest it so the ECU can learn the slightly different fueling. No idea about a diesel though.

Also, anyone used BG244 and noticed anything good?

People on here seem to think BG244 is good, so I bought some but can't say anything really happened after the tank full

Can't hurt in the long run though, just wish my local shell sold vpd

No need to reset the ECU. ECU's are always learning and will adapt over time to new fuelling, driving style etc.

All an ECU reset will do is put everything back to point zero and allow the recalibration to happen from scratch but ultimately you will end up at the same point over time.

Cool OK. Hopefully oil change this weekend (rain dependant), then will do BG244 next time I fill up and see how it goes. Might do air and pollen filter as well, leave the fuel filter till the 100k service (or it feels like it needs it), and obviously continue using VPD. Hopefully I can get this thing running a bit better so I can feel more confident about a stage1 next year.

I'll try shell next week. I filled the tank with Tesco diesel last week so it will be worth doing a comparison if there's a difference.

Whenever I've put Tesco diesel in the car's run like a dog! This was obviously the old Delica have only used VPD so far in the Honda. 2 friends at work have said their cars ran badly on Tesco diesel as well though.
