Sluggish power sometimes

Recently my Accord has developed a problem , happens more from cold start , you can be driving at 30 mph in say 3rd gear and when you go to put your foot down to increase speed it seems very flat and no power , sometimes have to drop it down a gear then it picks up better , the turbo is spinning up fine and no smoke or warning signs on the dash ?
 
Or blank/switch off
 
Cleaned the egr and there was a lot of carbon build up and oily sludge , car was okay for a few days then played up again , when it's left for a few days it starts then cuts out , had to pull it on tow rope to get it started and it took a while to start and wouldn't rev out when it finally did it kicked out a lot of blue smoke but then cleared off

Seems to happen more when it's cold and also when you've been sat at say 70mph on a motorway , when you go to accelerate there's no power and takes a while to pick up
 
Cleaning doesn't necessarily free up a stuck valve... did you check that the valve was free? Easy on a pre-facelift by applying voltage... Jayok posted a neat how-to video about 3 or 4 months ago.
 
Blank it and egr off with remap. Simple.

So.... What is the end of this story mate? Enjoying the remap and EGR off？
 
I've just bought an EGR from a breakers that was only 10 miles away from me , it was on eBay for £45 Buy It Now so I bought it , I'll re sell it if it doesn't fix the problem

Fitted it on my car and test drove it and fingers crossed so far no probs , I'll be working a 10 hour shift in it later so I'll find out then if it's fixed

Looks like it's fixed now , done over 100 miles and cars not missed a beat and feels good , glad to have it back to normal
