So garage called today, they have found the fault.

Two pipes to the turbo were the wrong way around and one pipe to the actuator/wastegate was missing a clip and so wasn't on tight.

They have tested the car and it's fine.

£105 - which is a bargain in my books for a few hours labour.

Tested the car tonight and it is pulling like a train. Really impressed with it and how it drives. Can hear the turbo spooling up, which was missing before.

No idea how quick it should be but it even has a decent amount of grunt in 5th. It will be interesting to see what happens when it gets tinkered with a remap.

More good news was that the turbo is also not the original, mechanic is positive that it;s fairly recent from the conditon it is in, bonus.

Time to sort out the buetooth, audio and remap.......once Ive taken it to London and back this week

WOW!

To be honest, no amount of guesswork would have guessed that was the problem. And I would agree, it must have had a new turbo or the original off for some reason for the pipes to be the wrong way round.

What a bunch of monkeys that must have fitted it in the first place

Glad you've got it sorted. Hopefully the car serves you well now pal.

They also have a countach up on the ramps just now - £9,940 for a clutch and £4000 for a gas strut - needed two new ones.

Owner of the garage has a Gt40.

If you are in Newcastle and need a garage.
