So, correct me if I'm wrong but the sticking rear brakes are a common issue with the 7th gen? No?

I've had a kind of groaning noise on pulling away and when stopping and whacking it into reverse recently. I thought it was a worn shock (or some other suspension related ailment as I have a knocking which I ***ume is bushes of some sort at the rear).

I noticed today when I got out of the car the smell of burning and knelt down to sniff my rear wheel (don't ask)......wow!! The heat from my nearside rear wheel was phenomenal, if I'd have touched the metal of the alloy it would have burnt my hand.

I've now got it booked into my local garage on Monday.....what is the likely diagnosis and more importantly cost to sort it?

Ta muchly!!

Sticky brakes are common on most cars once they get a few years or miles under their belts and it sounds like you have diagnosed it already.
Cost depends on if they are the type of garage to just replace a calliper or go to the effort of refurbing it themselves.
Cheapest option is to do it yourself

Mines been sorted ever since I rebuilt them at home. See HERE.

There's a lot of talk on TA about deterioration of flexi hoses, so I changed mine as part of the fix. Once swapped I spit them lengthways with a Stanley knife (not easy, they're made of tough stuff), and there was no sign of any problem at all. At £50 a piece for genuine Honda hoses, if I were doing the job again, I'd not bother with the hoses unless I was convinced the problem lay there.

Ah well. Had a new caliper and pads fitted today..........£175 lighter now. :(

I simply had to get it done, my nearside wheel was getting thermonuclear hot on every journey.
