Just test drove the mazda 6 175 bhp sport tourer auto with only 400 miles and it only achieved 38mp. Apparently it will get better. Hmm.

Depends how much you want to spend Jace.
With young kids I had to be sensible, but wanted something new, safe and reliable.
The Octavia is massive compared to the Accord and cheaper.
The new Superb is even bigger, estate versions bigger still 0% on them all at the moment.

Whining noise can be from a dodgy turbo. Likely to be an expensive jobby . . . keep looking, you will find a better one.
