Hi all.

Set off to work this morning and the car went into limp mode within 200 yards. Never happened to me before. RAC turned up and got a throttle position sensor fault code, although this was a historic fault code as the car ran fine at that time. I am wondering what my best option is, obviously trying not to spend money if its not needed. I have just read Nuno's great write up adjusting the speedo cable that talks about cleaning the TPS connector plug, someone said that this cured their TPS issues. Obviously i will do this but more opinions and suggestions welcome.
One person says just blast the connector with air to clean it, anotother suggested a contact cleaner. What is that?
Now going to do more research.

Thank you in advance.

Contact cleaner is an electrical cleaner used to clean the contacts in switches etc

Nothing wrong with asking questions, I only know about it because I use it at work.
