Unleaded in diesel car

2005 Accord CTDI
Morning all.

I managed to put unleaded fuel in my diesel tourer this morning. Other things on my mind and just picked up the wrong handle. After 15l i realised and topped up with diesel.

Drove less than a mile to work and now i want to empty the tank and fill with diesel.

What is the best way to do it?

Hopefully you can help as i am in a slight pickle.

Green Flag? AA? or burn off by driving, and refilling often, old diesel drivers used to put petrol in the diesel to ***ist starting in the cold weather, I have also been told that the bosch systems we have will burn anything but I ahve not attempted that yet. Hope you get it sorted.
 
Drive and refill often will be my plan if I can't get it empty. But I would much rather drain it.

If I was at work, then I think I'd get someone in to completely drain the tank, flush the fuel lines (and fuel filter) and dispose of the contaminated fuel.
 
Do not drive it. I've seen broken high pressure pumps and knackered common rail injectors with less petrol than that. Get it drained or syphoned out and refill with diesel. Also do the fuel filter.

Petrol will cause damage to the internal seals on your high pressure side as they need constant lubrication.
 
It wont be getting driven till I have the tank filled with nice diesel.

Think i am going to drop the tank off completely.

Failing that it is 200 quid for people to come and do it.

Not bad if that includes flushing the fuel lines and fuel filter, plus disposing of the drained fuel. And less than a tenth of the cost of new fuel pump and injectors!
