I have been looking at importing exhaust systems, exhaust and intake manifolds and possibly turbo and supercharger kits for the accord. Now I have noticed differences in the appearance of the us accord to the uk / euro accord, does this appearance difference stop at the likes of cosmetics or is the base car etc actually different, the exhaust systems for instance on the us spec seem to look a lot more like the prelude systems of a similar year in this country.
Can anyone clarify what should and shouldn't be the same?

I guess the US Accords are completely different from the European models, except for the Acura TL(VII gen Accord) and newer models...

Puts pay to cheap exhaust systems then. I'll have to buy some stainless and make my own.

The 7th gen Accord in the States is called the Acura TSX. The American Accord is rather different from ours.

I found that, but the 7th gen differs from the 6th gen regarding exhaust fitment etc doesn't it

It does mate. I've replied to your other thread, but I think looking at US spec Accords is perhaps going to lead you down an indirect and possibly costly path. There are simple and relatively cheap mods possible to get you a bit more of what you're after I think. Check out your other thread, see what you think.

:)

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread but hopefully it's still relatively on topic.

I put a new cat heat shield on the other day and when I did I had a good look at the rest of the exhaust.

I'm figuring on eventually having to replace the flexi downpipe upside of the cat, and everything downside of the cat, but not the cat itself touch wood.

What I'm wondering about is the bolts at either end of the cat which have corroded away into shapeless rusty lumps. Anyone know if a garage will be able to get these out okay without having to total the cat?

My exhaust was pretty rusted in places Cliff, but the garage that did my cat-back didn't say anything about having trouble getting it off. I'd imagine garages have plenty of tricks for getting out knackered bolts, but perhaps you'd want to get a second opinion from an Exhaust place.

I used to run my own mobile auto repair business and it sounds like my bolts are the same as yours. I just plan on grinding off one end of them and knock the rest of the bolt out. Shouldn't have to touch the cat.

I wouldn't even bother trying, just get some high tensile 8.8 replacements and job done
