Vibration when clutch is down

Morning guys,

I've come across an issue on my Accord 2.2 05plate since last week. When putting my foot down on the clutch i can feel a vibration which is really putting me off. I've only had the car for around 2 months now.

The car has done 83k and the last service from Honda done around 81k

Gear changing isnt smooth either from 2nd to 3rd.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

try teh clutch fluid first (DOT 4). then after that it could be the DMF... Perhaps the others can offer some more solutions?
 
Mo do you mean when you press the clutch pedal down or just rest your foot on the clutch? Can you feel any vibration in the steering or on the gear lever when you rest your hand on it?

The clutch fluid is on the right level and doesnt need a refill if thats what you meant Dan.

Fahad, its only when I press the clutch pedal right down to change a gear thats when I can feel a vibration. I can't feel the vibration on the steering wheel or the gear lever whilst pressing the clutch down.

The only other thing i've noticed which started around 4 weeks ago was the gear changing is not smooth particularly 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th

Can it be anything to do with brake/discs as i know they will need changing soon?

Double clutching? This isn't 1950! Double clutching does nothing, rev matching can help when going down the gears though.

Mo you're not just talking about gritty clutch pedal are you? You mean with the pedal held to the floor and steady (like sat at lights) there is a vibration?
 
Is there any noise coming from the clutch area when you press down the clutch, as perhaps the release bearing or diaphragm spring on the pressure plate is damaged.
After that agree with Dan re DMF.

Ultimately it is likely to need the gearbox removed as to check what has happened
 
My money will be on the DMF sorry to say, either way if your getting the gearbox looked at you may as well change the clutch and DMF due to the ***ociated labour cost.
 
Having been in the car when we went for a run, I couldn't hear or feel anything so if it is the DMF, it's probably in very early stages. I would just take it easy and see if it gets worse. This is the things with cars.. they will never stop costing money, but it's always best never to 'throw' money at them and just learn to live with stuff whilst it's practically possible.

Deff not the mods are the cost of an accord alone :lol:
 
Sounds exactly like my car. My DMF is most likely going, I haven't had a chance to take it to the garage; see what Holdcroft say at the end of the month and decide what to do.
