Water leaking into tailgate motor area

Hi,

Well, I know I did not go anywhere near this area when recently fitting my tow-bar electrics and I have noticed a bit of a leak for a while now. However, now it's getting silly. basically this morning I went to the boot and found a small puddle on the boot cover, it was dripping from the headlining as if the area where the the tailgate motor sits in the roof was a bowl of water! So is this coincidence or have I knocked something?

Any advice appreciated.

I'm gonna wait until it stops raining (as if... ) to take a closer look, starting with the roof bars and rain channels...

I can't see it being anything to do with fitting the tow bar if it's dripping from the roof.

If you do a search I think there was someone else had a roof leak on a 7th gen Tourer

When you do a rear wash does the inside or the outside of the glass get wet?
Not sure how the washer is piped, but perhaps the water is coming from there rather than rain water running in from outside?
This thread might give you some clues if you're poking round in that area...

LOL a good point, not so daft either as the washer pipe does run along with the loom which of course was "touched" during the tow-bar loom fitting. However, the washers work as designed. The pipe runs along the bottom and up the rear pillar through the tailgate hinge, not the roof line.
