I just bought a set of 18" sigmas thinking they would jazz up my mk8 tourer, being ignorant on such matters I expected them to "fill" out the wheel arches, how wrong can you get?

I have no complaint with the seller, they were a good buy and the tyres alone would cost the whole of the purchase I made, but the fitment looks weird and the ride is a lot harsher.
So they are now residing in the garage and the standard 17" rims are back on.

I am informed that low profiles will wear out pretty quickly, so when I need new boots I may refit them and run them out as well then look to getting a larger section tyre.

I have sigmas on mine and think they look much better on your car.
As for wear they are the same as 17" ones TBO.
If you want a drop try Aspec or coilovers.

Just had a thought what size tyres were on the sigmas.
If you brought them from Mo he has a 7th gen and the tyres will be a 40 profile instead of 45 for the 8th gen

Depends what's more important, comfort or aesthetics?

Personally I think they look lovely.

They are 40's and the 17's are 50's, Brett

and yes I expected you would love them Fhad

I am in no mood to drop anything! LOL

AND AT MY AGE COMFORT SCORES HIGHLY.

V.M.

That's why then they should be 45 on the 8th gen also these will effect your speedo.
3 mph less than the speed you doing.
I no it's only 5mm but it makes a huge difference as I've been there and tried 40 on mine as there a lot cheaper per corner

I have an 8th gen and the tyres are 225 50 17, not 45s.

That's because there 17" not 18"

Look lovely, but as you say you lose some comfort.
My new Octavia has 16" alloys, look ok and the ride is smooth.
