    Changing headlight bulbs

I can confirm this method.. does not work. Or it might work, but didn’t for me. The plastic caps for the headlight housing were seized solid and the only way to get good purchase on them to spin them off meant removing the headlights.. which meant removing the bumper lol This is on a 2012 Type...

    Changing headlight bulbs

I’m actually doing them tomorrow on our project Type S. I’ve got some new D2S bulbs to fit (I should have just done it when I had the headlights out while it was being painted a few weeks ago but hey ho). I’ll give this method a shot..

Very helpful, especially for those that don’t want the hassle of removing the bumper.

    Timing chain.

I wouldn’t bother with the expense and try and live with it as long as you can.. maybe try some additives to help quieten it down.

Anyone local to West Yorkshire willing to help?

Hi folks, I’m trying to eliminate an issue on our project car (8th gen Accord Type S) where the cruise control doesn’t work in 6th gear. After quite a bit of fault finding and data logging (including a replacement clutch switch) I have a feeling it might be down to incorrect tyre sizes. The car...

Sluggish acceleration, high fuel consumption, stumbling start

No you will need it mapping, and it will throw an error so have a basic code reader to clear off any errors while you try and diagnose the issue. Just temporarily blank it at the block where the aluminium pipe connects, the idea is to stop any leaking gasses getting in there. If your starting...

    DPF Sensor issue?

Hi Dean, that’s your differential pressure sensor. It’s mounted on the front slam panel closer to the driver side. On a 2009 car like yours it will have 2 pipes going into it. Easy to change. I’ve rarely seen them fail, have a close look at the plug and wiring, maybe there’s a break somewhere.

Poor cold start. 2.2 cdti 2006

I didn’t see the OP state he was seeing any faults logged for rail pressure, in fact I haven’t seen any specific faults noted at all, just anecdotal diagnostics. I think he’s following the correct path, but I also know from experience that you can’t rely on a basic glow plug test on these as...

Replace your glow plugs. Use genuine or original Bosch items.

Poor cold start. 2.2 cdti 2006

Most likely failing glow plugs. Otherwise a sticking egr, try blanking it temporarily. MAF error is likely if you’ve used a non genuine part. Stick to OEM (even a used one)
