Back Seat and Drivers side floor soaking

It's the hinges. Water drips down the C pillar and onto the rear shockabsorer mounts. It then "divides" with some water running into the rear of the car and some to the rear footwell. You need to remove the hatch. I tried to clean the hinges and applying all sorts of different remedies... it...

    Possible power steering pump failing

Well, all I can say is what my mechanic said (non-Honda): Honda needs genuine Honda PSF. Never mix. Maybe if you drained the system of genuine fluid and refilled with another you might be ok? I don't know... But never mix - I did, with a bad result.

    Recommended shocks for 2002 1.8

I am currently looking for replacement shocks ( front and rear ) for my Accord 2002 F18B2 hatchback. A bit uncertain of what brand to get. Have been looking at Sachs/Boge so far. I am not looking for a sportier ride - just to regain the stock ride. Ride at the moment feels a bit "harsh" or...

    Possible power steering pump failing

Agree with skhell: Use genuine Honda PSF only! I made the mistake of topping off the fluid on my Accord using an "universal" PSF. After about 3-4 weeks the pump started making a horrible grinding noise. Seems the fluid mix turned into some kind of foam/bubbles. Had to drain and clean/flush the...

    Water leaks everywhere

Car is now dry! One heck of a job but I managed to seal off the hinges - had to take off the hatch ( which is surprisingly easy if you get help from a buddy - 10 minutes! ). Next I sealed off the back lights. The seal itself turned out to be good. It seemed the water entered through the hole...

    Water leaks everywhere

You were right! A rusted crack appeared underneath the sealant right in the joint where the arch meets the firewall. I have fixed it temporarely with some body sealant - I'll do a more permament repair once the weather is a bit warmer. Thanks for the tip :)

    Water leaks everywhere

Weel, I removed the door cards and there seems to be some cracks through the adhesive that holds the plastic sheet. These are at the bottom of the door - not so much on the front doors but they are evident on both back doors. They are not very large, but I can see a small trail where water might...

    Water leaks everywhere

I will do the arch liners as well. Thanks for adding to my "to do" list :D The car has no sunroof. I should have pointed that out in the original post - have read a lot about the problems many Honda´s have had with the sunroof drains.

    Water leaks everywhere

OK - I'll check the inside of the doors as well. Do you remember what type of adhesive you used?

    Water leaks everywhere

Hello all! My left hand drive 6th gen Hatch has several water leaks; In the boot ( spare tire area and on both side floor panels, under the fabric lid ), in the rear footwells and the drivers side footwell. I was about to give up but decided to try to sort it out. I know the rear taillights...

    Engine swap F18B2

Yes, they did pay me for the donor engine. I get the work done for free. I got a new clutch for the car yesterday. Can't wait to test drive it when everything is put back in place ( done right this time! ) :)

    Engine swap F18B2

Thank you for the reply. Just got it confirmed that the swap should be pretty straightforward. My mechanic will do the work tomorrow - too big a task for me to do alone ;) I think I'll put in a new clutch as well since we have the old engine out of the car at the moment. The reason for the swap...

    Engine swap F18B2

I'm having my old F18B2 engine swapped for a newer, lower milage engine - also a F18B2. Only problem is... the engine I can get hold of is made for an Automatic transmission - I have a standard manual on my car, and I'm keeping it a manual :) Is it possible to do this swap? If so, do I need...

    Engine swap 2002 Accord

I will plug and "pray" :D Hopefully it will be an easy swap. The rest of the car is in very good condition, so that is why I spend the extra cash to keep it for a few more years.
