    Fuel filter

Thank you for the replies - all very helpful. My Accord is a petrol engine, so the filter will be in the fuel tank. Not too sure that I want to go ferreting in there! According to the owner's manual the fuel filter should be replaced every 25,000 miles. I've covered about 12,000 miles since...

    Fuel filter

I've owned my 2005 Tourer for about two years and while I haven't covered a massive mileage I want to replace the fuel filter. However, while I've looked on www.lingshondaparts for a diagram without luck I can't find its location in the engine bay. Where is it situated? Also, having replaced the...

    Tourer exhaust

Ok - I've had the Tourer up on the ramps after taking it for a short spin - and not a drip of water to be seen! It's called Sod's Law! I've had a good inspection of the area of the rear box near the oval shape with the aid of a torch and I can't see any small holes. I don't know if weather...

    Tourer exhaust

Bounder thank you for that information. I am going to investigate further this morning with the Accord on ramps. This will give me a better view of just where the water drip is coming from. On first sight it certainly appears to be around the oval shape. So it's overall on and crawl under the car!

    Tourer exhaust

Of course - the usual place that you see water is at the tail pipe, particularly when the car is first started. My concern is that the water is seeping from a pinhole in the weld either at the junction of the pipe to the rear box, or at a point in the rear oval shape of the silencer box. I did...

    Tourer exhaust

Further to my original post I purchased a genuine Honda exhaust for my Tourer (55 reg) and had it fitted by a local garage that I regularly use for MOT etc. After a week or so I noticed a slow drip of water from the rear silencer box - not from the rear pipe, but from the "front side" where the...

    Tourer exhaust

Well I've ordered a genuine Honda exhaust from the dealer in Stoke on Trent, plus the 3 bolts for attachment. Also, recently I've become aware of a rattling sound coming from under the car. On investigation I've pinpointed the rattle to a broken metal cover that covers the underside of the cat...

    Tourer exhaust

The one-piece exhaust on my 2005 Accord Tourer will need replacing in the next few months. My local Honda dealer has quoted me £290.00 plus £54.00 fitting for the complete exhaust. This includes the pipework from front to back plus the rear silencer (the complete set), but minus the cat. With a...

    Bulb change

A big thank you for the PDF doc - it was brilliant. Changed the bulb this morning - took 5 minutes (if that). I returned the H7 bulbs and told mr parts man about the database error - and got the correct H1 bulb. After reading the PDF and the need to line up the notch on the cap at the back of...

DIY 7th Gen Dipped Beam Headlight Bulb Change

Silly me - that lump of plastic is the rear of the headlight housing! What is the correct bulb? Reading through the various replies to this topic it says H1 bulb; the parts store gave me H7. I ***ume the store is using the same database as Halfords?

DIY 7th Gen Dipped Beam Headlight Bulb Change

Hi Matt - many thanks for the very quick reply - it's appreciated. I will read the step by step, equip myself with screwdriver etc, take a very deep breath and try to sort it out. Unfortunately, it's raining here at the moment so I will tackle it in the morning (no garage). The bulb is on the...

    Bulb change

I'm sure this question has been asked before - how the hell do I change a headlight bulb (not full beam) on my 2005 Accord Tourer. The MOT is due tomorrow and I thought best to check the lights - n/s headlight bulb gone. A trip to my local car parts emporium and one to use plus a spare. Having...

    Rear brakes binding

I own an Accord Tourer 2.0 (2005) and after a short trip yesterday (12 miles) I stepped out of the car and the aroma of hot brake pads hit my nostrils. On checking the rear discs (very hot) and having jacked up the car, the pads are binding on the discs. This is a problem that I had when I owned...

    Small hose dripping

Hi - I recently purchased a 2005 Tourer and it's a lovely car to drive and I'm impressed with it. A few days ago I noticed coolant or water dripping from underneath the car close to the front end of the exhaust. I've had the car up on ramps and there is a small black hose poking out from a hole...

Accord Tourer cam belt or chain?

Hi - I've recently acquired (two weeks ago) a 2005 Accord Tourer with 89,000 miles on the clock. This replaces the Civic Aerodeck that I had. My question - does the Accord have a cam belt or a chain? The seller told me a chain but for peace of mind I want to be certain. If it is a chain does it...
