It needs to be checked on a HDS for functional test, but if it’s moving cleanly by hand and you can’t feel any sticking or high spots then it should be fine.
Measure how much comes out and refill the same volume, then warm up the engine and gearbox, cycle through from D to N to R a few times to let it fill the torque converter and check the dipstick while it’s warm to get a measure.
Honda boxes typically take 7-8 litres in total but you can’t drain it all simply from the drain plug. A normal oil change will remove around 3-3.5 litres and that’s what you’re refilling (either via the fill hole or the dipstick tube). You’re not actually changing the entire ATF in a standard...
Yep never known anyone to have cause to do this on a MK8, and I’ve seen a few of these now. You sure it’s not injector knock/rattle you’re hearing? Is it doing it even at idle or under load?
Nope not true, or at least partially true.
It’s not the case for the 8th gen Accord. But it is for the MK4 CRV IDTEC and MK9/MK10 Civic Idtec. They have an oil dilution reset option for this purpose.
thanks for sharing your experience and if this has worked for you on the P00AF issue then great. Sadly my experience after years of dealing with these cars is different. There is no substitute for manually stripping and cleaning out the turbo and vanes.
And dpf cleaning additives almost always...
Most that come in now are on that sort of mileage. My original response stands, if it’s a healthy engine and a solid base to start from we’ll get a good result.
You mean the intake air temp sensor? It’s part of the MAF circuitry, the Accord diesel doesn’t have a separate IAT like some older cars. If you mean the MAP sensor then that’s on the intake manifold near the boost pipe coupling.
