Does anyone knows how IMRC valve operate on 2.2 iDtec engines? The reason i ask is because i bought a HDS tester clone, connected to the car and and when i got to the menu with engine parameters ,like engine coolant temp , rpm etc, IMRC valve is set to 63° at idle and it shoud be betwen 10 and 20° if i remember corectly. The thing is that it really never sems to change. I took the car for a spin , gone to almost 4500 rpm (driving) and the angle of IMRC never changed... As i understand , this valve need to be closed at low rpm to aid fuel mixture, leting just one pasage open . The HDS also have a menu with tests for diferent systems , so i did IMRC test and the test passed. The problem i ve got is that , by staying partly open my intake hose from airbox creates a loud boomig noise at idle and at 1500 rpm , witch seems to change only when i do IMRC test.. The car has no MIL , works ok, only at idle has some vibrations, some times more than the others. Thanks!
