    Rear brake/handbrake issues continue!

When I bought the car the rear pads were a very tight fit! Cleaning the brakes was the first thing I did after reading on here how they always seize on the tourer. Like you I filed the ends so they were a nice fit. I've cleaned the carriers at least 3 times since then but I changed the calipers...

Rear ARB Bushes and Drop Links

I've seen these, look like a good price - http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/MEYLE-Rear-Left-or-Right-Stabiliser-anti-roll-bar-DROP-LINK-No-15-16-060-0001-HD-/291252683901 They're not handed are they? I've decided to replace the links at the same time. Knowing my luck I'll fit the new bushes and the...

    Rear brake/handbrake issues continue!

I didn't think it would be the bearing, I've had a couple go on other cars and I have no symptoms that it's failing. It's only this one side though, I can't say I've noticed it on the other and I check both sides. The discs are Honda ones, don't have a lip and are above the minimum thickness...

Rear ARB Bushes and Drop Links

Thanks mate, I had searched but didn't see that post as the guide is for the fronts. How you finding the Meyle links? My front ones have been fine. I usually knock the link off the ball joint when changing mine and grip it with mole grips, then undo or cut the nut off. I ***ume leaving the...

    Rear brake/handbrake issues continue!

Ever since I bought the car nearly 3 years a go I've had nothing but trouble with them (this is the tourer) constantly binding and 6 months a go I replaced the calipers, slider pins and hoses. Everything has been fine until recently. I keep getting a hot smell from the OSR, it's been there for...

Rear ARB Bushes and Drop Links

There is some slight play in my rear ARB bushes, I can push and pull the bar when the car is jacked up so I'm sure this is causing my knocking noise. I've seen genuine Honda bushes for £15 on ebay so will order those but I have a couple of questions for those who have changed them. Will the...

Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Oh well, I guess it's not too important on a 12 year old car and I'm keeping it for as long as I can anyway.

Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Got mine done today, they had the car for 2 hours! There was no recall on the Accord, they wrote my reg down wrong and thought it was a CRV! No paperwork was given to me to say it had been done, did anyone else get any?

Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Just booked mine in for next week, had the letter in March but haven't got around to it. They also said there is an outstanding recall to be done for a window switch on my car.

Upgrading the Accord iCDTi ICE. Many Questions (& hopefully Answers too!)

Thanks for the demo mate and it was good seeing you again on Saturday :) All I can say it WOW, this install is so impressive and it's so stealth you wouldn't know any of it was there, the HU looks factory fit! Even standing outside you can barely hear the music for all the sound deadening that...

Replacement air filter - standard or K&N?

From ECP then, seems a good price. How often do they need to be changed on the Accord, usually it's 12k miles I think but I'm sure I read in the handbook 24k? I'll have to check that cos with my mileage it's only every 3-4 years. It has been years since I used a standard filter, I've had either...

Replacement air filter - standard or K&N?

It's due to be replaced soon, I think it's a Honda one in there ATM. Would a cheap one be ok, are there any I should avoid, I've been looking at Fram or Comline filters? Or would a K&N (or Pipercross) be better? I know the uprated ones don't make much difference, we have a K&N in the Civic but...

    Automatic transmission behaviour

I always leave mine in D and hold with the foot brake, usually I'm only waiting a minute or less. If I've not moved for a while I'll put the handbrake on and put it in N. Done this on the Civic as well and never had an issue.

7th gen tourer rear calipers, best place to get them from?

I got an email within a couple of days and the refund a few days after that. I've used them several times and they're fairly quick.

    Brake Bleeding - Mityvac

Only just seen this I have been away. I've done around 800 miles on the new calipers now and the car is braking fine, the soft pedal is just a trait of the system. You are definitely right about it being 2 people working in unison, it was much easier having the father in law helping than the...

7th gen tourer rear calipers, best place to get them from?

Replaced mine a few weeks ago using brakes international. After the surcharge was refunded it worked out to be around £130 for 2 calipers, 2 hoses and 2 sets of slider pins.

    passenger airbag recall

Sorry to bump an old thread but I got a letter from Honda yesterday about this recall. How long does the work take and will they give you a courtesy car? My nearest dealer is over 10 miles away and would be a pain to get home from. I had an airbag recall on my last car as well, a Corolla but...
