    Service indicator

Really? Do you think they will actually do that for free? Are they obliged to do it free or is it just something you've come across?

    Service indicator

Got my 8th gen in January with 9500 miles on the clock. It had been serviced a couple of weeks previously so I reset the service indicator, as it had not been reset. Here's the best bit, car has no done 13700 miles and the service indicator says I have only 3400 miles until it needs a service...

    Lumbar support

I've had my 8th gen since january now after having run a 7th gen for 6 years and i just can;t get used to the drivers seat. With the lumbar turned to minimum it seams to have way too much lumbar pressing into my back. Has anybody else noticed this?

    Flat battery

Well to be honest my wife has a honda civic which we bought with a honda warranty, and the warranty paid the best part of £1000 (at main dealer rates) for several issues that the car had, I've just bought an 8th Gen accord and already had 3 new alloys on the manufacturers 3yr warranty and a back...

    Help identifying which wheel bearing

Well in each hub the 2 bearings face each other so whether loading or unloading the bearing causes the noise when you turn left for example, one bearing is loaded and the other is unloaded. I've had bearings fail in the past where turning towards the side of the failed bearing made it more...

    Flat battery

Thanks for all the advice. I tried to attach my phone to the HFT system and it was clearly dead. So my dad took the car to the garage and they agreed to mend the HFT system on the Honda approved used car warranty. The service manager said that the part was some sort of obscene amount of money...

    Help identifying which wheel bearing

As each hub contains 2 bearings you can't tell which hub is making the noise just by the noise changing when going round left and right hand bends. I would take each wheel off in turn and spin the hub. listen for one of them being noisy. The bearing should also feel rough if you turn the hub...

    Noise from drive belt area

The belt has stretched, it needs a new one. My old 7th Gen (2L petrol) needed one about every 30K. It used to make a noise for about 5 secs when started from cold when it needed a new belt.

    engine oil

I used mobil one 0w40 in mine (was a 2L petrol), changed every 12.5k, sold it with 97k on the clock. Engine sounded the same as when i bought it and didn't use a drop of oil. 5L of mobil one costs £30 at costco. Well worth the money.

    Flat battery

My dad bought a 7th Gen a few months ago, 06 plate with 26k on clock, Honda approved warranty. Soon after getting it the car had a flat battery. Reluctantly the dealer that supplied the car agreed to give my dad a new battery for it. It's just gone flat again this morning. The breakdown...

    How good are upgraded speakers?

Mine is an ES and it has no subwoofer. I might buy some speakers from a scrap yard, remove the original cones and fit upgraded ones to the plastic frame i think. I have some really nice pioneer ones in my garage that i had fitted in a car 10 years ago.

    Corrosion on Alloys

Dealer phoned today, new alloys have been authorized! Honda never disappoints on warranty claims I find.

    How good are upgraded speakers?

The 8th gen has just base drivers on the back shelf, but they are smaller than the 7th gen speakers and no longer elliptical. The magnet is very small and sound quality lacks treble definition.

    How good are upgraded speakers?

I'm thinking about purchasing upgraded speakers for the back shelf from Honda. They do a speaker with a center mounted tweeter (part number 08A55-TL0-600B). Has anybody got any experience of this upgrade? I'm so disappointed with the standard speakers but don't want to spend quite a lot of...

    Corrosion on Alloys

There is no sign of curbing at all. I asked the dealer about it today as i dropped off my wife's civic for some corrosion warranty work doing on it. The dealer has submitted a claim. Fingers crossed, I'll update when i get the result, but I will not be happy if Honda don't replace them on a...

    Corrosion on Alloys

I've just bought a 10 plate VTEC ES and 3 of the 4 alloys have significant corrosion. Car still has 2 months manufacturers warranty and has covered 10,000 miles. Should I expect warranty on corroded alloys?

Rattle between 1200 and 2300 revs

No it only does it whilst driving. Interestingly i drove home with snow on the bonnet today and it didn't do it. Wander if it's the bonnet vibrating. I think i read about that problem somewhere on this forum.

Easist option to change dip beam headlamp bulb

It might be a lady working at Halfords, she'd have a better chance of fitting her hands in to change a bulb than a man on an 8th Gen!

Rattle between 1200 and 2300 revs

I'm getting a rattle/buzzing noise from somewhere at the front passenger side. It happens when the engine is laboring with my foot hard on the accelerator between 1200 and 2300 revs. My car is a 2 litre petrol manual. Anybody else got the same noise?
