2.2 CTDI Laboured/Juddering on start up - What's going wrong?

several have pointed out fuelling and always steer towards filter. It could be low fuel pressure due to an injector leaking off or a worn pump. They can be fine when cold but when everything has warmed up then restarting probs can occur.

VSA light on and stays on (help needed)

...could easily be just a perished sensor which can be isolated with Honda diagnostic kit. Has it recently had any brake/suspension work done on it?

accord 04 hot starting problems solved (kinda)

Hi Gents, I replaced the sensor on the cam, but there was also a sensor on the crank buried behind the a/c compressor which I got a used part for...but didn't fit. I opted to go down the injector or pump route, and that's where I still at... Its weird as I've been snug in my Civic for months...

accord 04 hot starting problems solved (kinda)

haha SPUTNIK is still in the corner of my local garage waiting for them to get time to do a leak test on the injectors. Its been in there so long its become a dusty 'barn find' and maybe starting to appreciate in value LOL. Seriously though, my Accord started to display the same traits hence I...

    Air con problem

+1 for the pressure 'sensor' ( not switch ) , £100+ quid from the dealers. My CN1 needed one last year and my Civic FK3 is playing A/C mind tricks presently...also suspect pressure sensor ( though the Civic part is half the price..)

    i-CTDI blocked catalytic converter?

    Another starting problem :-(

My 'used' crank sensor has turned up in the post, so I popped down to my garage tonight to discuss plans to suss out SPUTNIK's woes. Basically we agreed that its going in dock Friday morning for a leak-off check, then if that comes up ok ...the following morning his diagnosis bloke will look at...

    Another starting problem :-(

Hi Alan, putting it your way..it does make perfect sense. I've tried to track your topics but can't find specific details of what probs you had vs. what solution you found. Was yours injector specific or something on the rubber return piping? cheers

    Another starting problem :-(

Yep Jon I must have speed read right past that ( but not sure whether the OP could have been referring to the cam sensor though ). The cam sensor is straight forward to access, just needs the airbox out of the way, whereas the crank sensor is buried behind the A/C compressor and I serious doubt...

    Another starting problem :-(

Hi Bob , I've got a similar problem which is preventing me for selling my Accord. I'm part way down the path of position sensors. I've replaced the cam sensor and that didn't work. But I've got a crank sensor due in the post hoping for it to be fitted this week. My car started okay when cold...

    I-CTDI crank position sensor replacement

Hi all, Getting well cheesed off chasing the cause on a hot starting glitch on my 2004 Accord I-CTDI. Having replaced the CAM sensor which made no difference, its now time to look at replacing the CRANK sensor. I've researched the part and believe its 37500-RBD-E01 / Bosch 0 281 002 659. I...

    Accord 04 CDTi starting problems

.....well....£19 quid was a small wager ...but wasted nethertheless. The used CAM sensor was fitted tonight, as expected SPUTNIK-I started okay cold , so I left her running while I give it a wash along with SPUTNIK-II the Civic. 30mins later I switched off the ignition and left it a few mins...

    Accord 04 CDTi starting problems

mmm... I know its a nightmare chasing electronic ghosts. But I'm choosing the route of 1. ) cam sensor, see if it behaves.....,if not then 2) crank sensor. I've done a bit of digging and appears the crank sensor is far less common as a purchase. Its located just underneath the a/c compressor...

    Accord 04 CDTi starting problems

But wouldn't a sticky EGR cause other running probs?? I swear once she starts...she doesn't miss a beat ...or smoke etc. Also would EGR cause a fault code ??? ...and I recall you HDS tested the EGR in its warm state and it flagged up as okay I successfully found the cam sensor. It was a pain...

    Accord 04 CDTi starting problems

Faddy, been away all week in my S-Max , but the Accord now back on the drive after its new front ABS sensor. After getting home today, I shifted the Honda off the drive to give it a run. It started fine from cold and after running for a few mins I switched it off. When I restarted it took a few...

Don't you just hate it when..

..you waste hours fitting a part that isn't broken  Sputnik-I is not letting go without a fight. Its ABS light came on after the MOT, obviously something got disturbed with all the poking & prodding. I had purchased a rear O/S sensor last year as the light popped up then...but went...

    Rear ABS sensor

Just started on mine , struggling to get a drill & bit combo short enough to drill without fouling on the rear arch :-( I've piloted a hole and then incremented up in drill size a few mil at a time. There's ~ 1mm of sensor wall thickness left but I can't get a drill in now. Stopping for a brew...

    Pentas or Epilsons?

Dunno the Honda name, but my Accord's scabby epsilons were swapped out from some rims from a Civic EX. Honestly I'm sick of those diamond cut polished alloys as the slightest mark and they go crusty
