Would you buy in this situation?

It's very tempting, I've never seen a genuine car in that condition. Mechanically it should be fine for 3-4 years but exterior wise... It's a different story!

Would you buy in this situation?

I've no doubt it would, but it won't be changing my mind on economy..... unfortunately! Like I said at 20k miles a year I can't afford to run a petrol engine.

Would you buy in this situation?

I doubt many would agree with that statement of having to cover 200k+. I drive 20k miles a year, and comparing the petrol and diesel accord I'd save about 1300 euros a year running a diesel model. I plan to hold onto this car for two years anyway so that's over 2500. Quite a big saving and would...

Would you buy in this situation?

Just want to get some opinions on what you'd do in this situation... I've managed to find a little gem in the form of a diesel Accord exec with only 40k miles and a full Honda service history. The VSA module has been replaced and all the history has been verified by the dealer. The car is in...

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Suppose it's a different breed of car but you could pick up much younger Integra's for that sort of money!

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Fairly expensive for a 02 car, I know it has the extra power and all but it's cut back in other ways. The EX has a much better spec and can be had for a lot less, at the expense of BHP of course.

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Seems hard to find a genuine euro r, a lot of them have been tarted up with lips, kits and cut springs probably :) Are there any mods for the 2litre engine to bring up the figures of the standard EX or type s?

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

So 65 litres x 1.55 a litre is €100. Averaging 450 miles a tank that's 22cent a mile. Not bad going for a 2litre... Considering the joys of driving a car like that :) funnily enough I've already got plans in mind for it! Damn this site :D

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Hmmm good point! What are realistic figures for a 2.4 and 2.0 type s? I was talking to a local Honda dealer and he said that one of his customers reported 450 miles to the tank in a '07 2 litre... Is that possible or just dealer talk? :)

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Christ on a bike! So much for my plan.... to be honest I wouldn't mind paying the 700 or so for a nice type s, but 1080 is out of my reach!

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Really? :o I checked the current engine size based bands and beside that it showed the new rate of about 300 if I remember correctly! Never crossed my mind that it might be more?

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Sorry if I've confused anyone but I'm actually looking for the 7th gen body shape with a 08 reg. :) there seems to be a few with the older body on 08 plates, there's something about the new model that's just not as pleasant to look at IMO, of course. I'm just looking for a 08 plate car because...

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Isn't the type s just a 2litre with a few sporty extras inside? Or what are the differences in a type s?

Advice on buying a petrol Accord?

Hey all, sadly lost touch with the site since I sold the Accord back in November. Since then I've had a '06 Golf GTi and currently driving a '04 A4 TDi but I'm hoping to sell it pretty soon and move back to the Honda family again  I've been looking around at a few cars and I've decided...

Need a new turbo....any advice or recommendations?

Funnily enough another business (that shall remain nameless) had supposedly kept a turbo for me, when I went to pay them later that day it was gone, so I ended up buying off McKeowns! €450 with a years warranty and delivered to my mechanic. Thanks for the advice! The car is currently in the...

Need a new turbo....any advice or recommendations?

Well when I bought the 2.2 pre-budget last year the tax was 840 I think? It then jumped to 925 after the budget and I'd be inclined to think it will take another hike this year! As for the turbo issue, I've managed to find a re-manufactured unit for €450, with a years warranty...

Need a new turbo....any advice or recommendations?

A 2.4 to tax over here in Ireland? I'm not made of money!! :P I drove a 2007 Type S on Friday, gorgeous car to sit in but I found it a bit lacking in torque compared to the diesel. That must be your reason for recommending a 2.4! As of today I still haven't decided what I'm doing...

Need a new turbo....any advice or recommendations?

To me and according to the other prices these cars are making, my diesel was worth €6000-6500 in working order, I'm just afraid of putting another grand or a little over into the car because its money I'm not going to get back when it comes to sale time. When it's dead money I'm wondering should...
