FYI the honda warranty used to be that the car in question had to be no older than 7 yrs and not yet covered 125000 miles. I had mine done at 119000 when the donkey was 5 1/2 yrs old

    Vibrations

A drive shaft set as priced buy Lings comes to £1345 ouch!!! That would be a harsh pill to swallow on a whim. I've had someone in work mention engine mounts, is this a possibility? From what I can see, the engine is only suspended on three mounts, could these be a problem?

    Vibrations

How should I check that this is the problem? Will the splines rattle or do I have to take them apart to have a look? The vibration I'm experiencing is like a high speed oscillation of the steering wheel. Is this a common problem with accords with 150k on the clock?

    Vibrations

Hi all I'm experiencing alot of vibrations through the steering wheel. This seems to happen under acceleration only, and it gets worse the harder I put my foot down. If it starts and I back of the gas then reapply gently I don't get any vibrations at all. I've had all the tyres rebalanced and...

Gear Knob / Gaitor Retaining Clip

When you lift the front part up work your fingers around the corners both sides at the same time and it will pop out of the centre consol. If you have buttons either side of the gearshift then you will need to disconnect these to lift the surround over the gear knob. When you have it inside out...

Gear Knob / Gaitor Retaining Clip

As said in post #2 I did the same but used an S2K gear knob. But before I cable tied the gator back on the gearstick I used autosol and a scotch pad to clean up and polish the lever then tied the gator as low as possible just above the joggle. Keeps it looking clean and simple or S2K-ish.

    Removing Gear Knob

The gear knob is on a 10mm thread kept on with thread lock on some models an a nut with others. Either way twist it anticlockwise as u look at it from on top and it will eventually come off. Don't forget to pull the gearstick gator down to disconnect it from the knob as u won't spin it much.

    window rain reflectors

I have had a full set of Climair deflectors on my Accord tourer for 3yrs. With the windows open 150mm to 200mm at motorway speeds they push the air current past the opening beyond that they do make a bit of noise but not enough to be intrusive. Around town, sub 40mph there is next to no noise...

    Rear brake/handbrake issues continue!

I would've layed money down on the caliper/brake hose being the problem and the culprit of the burning smell. It plagued me for 2 years until I bit the bullet and renewed the hoses, calipers and pads in 1 go. That was back in February, so far all is well.

    Which grease?

White grease. It comes in a spray can like WD40 it looks like foam when you spray it on hinges/locks but that helps to keep it in place.

    corrosion

Another option is using a red oxide paint on the corroded areas. Little is talked about this in the automotive industry but is used extensively in the marine industry.

    road noise

Do you have a saloon or tourer? Having the latter I know they can be quite noisy and tyre choice is just the tip of the iceberg. Have you considered installing a Noisekiller kit from the www.Nkgroup.co.uk . I have been reading up on the kits they do and recently they have featured in Car...

    Tourer roof racks?

Thule aero bars or wing bars (alloy, light weight, expensive compared to steel) are good as they don't generate noise like Thule square bars do or any other square bars in general (steel, bit heavier, prone to rusting if they get alot of heavy use). But it depends on your budget and whether you...

    Cycle rack on tourer

I have used the Witter single pole bike rack on the back of my cars for years. It has its own dedicated plate that you bolt between the towball and towbar so you need longer bolts but it does hold 3 full size mountain bikes comfortably.

    Brake Caliper Paint

You could use barbecue paint, if you like matt black ? Very heat resistant and almost as good as powder coating.
