I am going to buy this car from my neghbour who cannot afford it anymore but there is this problem. How do I get the alarm lights off so I can have a smooth purchase.

you might get good response from 6th gen owners if/when one of the moderators moves this into the "6th Gen Accord" section.

As a 7th gen owner I can only go by my experience of this on 7th gen, which is that a totally flat battery causes this sort of thing. Charge the battery up and try it again, you might have to wait about 20 minutes for the internal battery in the alarm to recover too.

Also try this solution (again, it's 7th gen) http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/18375-reset-alarm/?p=200815

Is the battery in the alarm remote still good?

On the 6th gen you can arm and diarm the lock and alarm with the key, you can try that, otherwise try resetting the ECU.

i would have thought that the OP had already tried the key, and he hasn't said if the battery was flat (I ***ume the neighbour left it long enough to have gone flat)

thought as much, remember doing this on my two 6th gens I've had.

Brian 7th gen is a different alarm system

in what way is it different ?

OP hasn't really specified the problem either.
